Q:  I lost my card and I don’t know what my expiration date or Certification number is.  Where can I get this information?
A:  You can get this information by clicking HEREQ:  Is there a “Grace Period” after my card expires?
A:  As of July 1st, 2013, the GSWCC has lifted the grace period restrictions.  Now, anyone may renew their certification at any time by taking a 4 hour renewal (re-certification) course either online or in class.  Your certification will be good for 3 years from your renewal date if you take the course after your expiration date or it will be good for 3 years from your expiration date if you renew prior to your expiration date.Q:  Do I get a new card upon completing the renewal (re-cert) course?
A:  The GSWCC now sends out new cards with completion of the renewal course.

Q: Once I renew my certification, does it expire 3 years from my renewal date or 3 years from my old expiration date?
A:  Your certification will be good for 3 years from your renewal date if you take the course after your expiration date or it will be good for 3 years from your expiration date if you renew prior to your expiration date.

Q:  What is different about your online re-certification from other companies?
A:  First of all, our courses have been updated to reflect the newest changes in the NPDES General Permits and have relevant, practical examples for your information. We have included a module on the new GEOS system of reporting. Our course is narrated, unlike any other courses available.  This makes our training experience much more enjoyable as you may listen to the course presented in a pleasant manner.

Q:  What Level(s) of online Re-Certification do you provide?
A:  Level 1A, Level 1B and Level II

Q:  What is the cost of your online re-certification?
A:  The price for our online recert training is $90

Q:  Do I have to do the whole 4 hour course all at once?
A:  No, you may take as long as you like to finish (there is no expiration to the course) and you may stop and start as often as you like.  The course will remember where you left off and will start up where you left off.  You may go back to review previous pages as well.

Q:  Can I finish the course faster than 4 hours?
A:  It is a State requirement that you spend at least 4 hours on the course.  You may take as long as you’d like, but if you go through the course faster than 4 hours it will make you go back and click around reviewing until 4 hours has expired.  It is best to take the course at the pace it is narrated.  If you do so, you will finish right at the required time.

Q:  Do I have to take a test(s) when I do an online course?
A:  Only for the purpose of tracking your progress – this course is interactive will ask you to answer 5 questions at the end of each of the 4 modules, and then a 10 question final questionnaire at the end.  However, these are true/false and multiple choice, and if you don’t get enough correct, it will just ask the questions again until you get enough correct.  There is no limit to the number of times you can take the quizzes, so don’t worry about getting incorrect answers – there is no way to “fail” this course.

Q:  What happens when I’m finished?  Do I have to send the information to the State?
A:  You are ONLY required to fill out your Lawful Presence forms (if you haven’t already done so) – we send all of the other course information in to the commission.
