MS4 On-Line Re-Certification
It’s required that MS4 Compliance & Enforcement Certified Inspectors (MS4CECIs) recertify every 3 years with the NPDES Stormwater Training Institute to keep up with the latest NPDES permit program changes and reacquaint the course attendee with effective principles and practices while performing their MS4 responsibilities. This 4-hour Recertification Course is for existing MS4 Compliance and Enforcement Certified Inspectors (MS4CECIs) and is designed by the NPDES Stormwater Training Institute to be a self-paced course that meets the 3-year recertification requirement for the MS4CECI program is a 4 to 8 hour training experience designed to recertify Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) staff and contracted personnel that performMS4permit compliance and enforcement responsibilities. Created for MS4CECI regulatory field inspectors, stormwater management personnel and consultants who need recertification, the MS4CECI recertification course allows professionals the opportunity to complete recertification at their own pace and offers the opportunity for classroom interaction as well as questions and answers.
The classroom presentation includes but is not limited to:
- Clean Water Act Stormwater History
- National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits (MS4, industrial & construction)
- MS4 Compliance and Enforcement Point Source & Non-Point Source Updates
- Role of the MS4 Inspector and inspection protocol (IDDE & Facility Inspections)
- MS4 program audits.
Following course completion, recertified MS4CECI students will be able to research the latest changes in the federal and state requirements for stormwater; explain the requirements of the NPDES permitting program & in some cases local stormwater management ordinances, describe the responsibilities of personnel involved (permits, SWPPP design professionals, state & federal agencies) in the stormwater management activities.
